Created in 2007 by the Fundação Fernando Henrique Cardoso and the Centro Edelstein de Pesquisas Sociais, the Plataforma Democrática aims to strengthen democratic culture and institutions in Brazil and Latin America.
We develop research, publications and seminars on the transformations of society and politics in the region and in the international system, with a focus on the challenges to coexistence and democratic governance. We stimulate dialog between knowledge producers and different social and political actors, without partisan distinctions. We promote the democratic learning of citizenship, fostering a civic culture that values argumentation and the pluralism of points of view.
